My name is Jamal Ismail Kakrasul. I am a Ph.D. holder from the University of Kansas, and a faculty member of the Faculty of Engineering (FENG), Department of Civil Engineering (DCIVE) at Soran University (Since August 2018). As an instructor, I developed, designed, and instructed various STEM (Scien ce, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) courses. I taught some engineering and civil engineering-related courses at different institutions. I also taught system analysis and computer architecture to junior students in the mathematics and computer science department at Soran University. Regarding research, I am broadly interested in reinforced soil retaining structures, geosynthetics, soil stabilization, buried structures, and the behavior of reinforced concrete members. I am a forward-thinking civil engineer with a solid geotechnical, structural, and hydraulic engineering and construction management background. I have more than 15 years of professional and leadership experience designing and constructing civil engineering projects. In my professional work, I served as the director of the Engineering and Construction Department at Soran University for more than three years, chair of the residential engineering office at Soran University campus, and a civil engineer at the Planning and Technical Department at Erbil Municipalities, Designer & Quality Control Engineer for water supply projects in rural areas.
